Koh Chang is the largest unit in a 52-island marine national park. Unspoiled by modernisation, its natural resources remain intact. Its hinterland consists of over 70% virgin rainforest which is protected by law under the jurisdiction of the Forestry Department of the Kingdom of Thailand.

Few study centres worldwide are able to offer this type of purpose-built facility within a scenic national park environment. The IDEALS Centre affords both direct access to unparalleled mountain-based primary rainforest and a stepping stone from which to explore adjacent coral-fringed islands and surrounding tropical seas.

The provision of this world-class facility on Koh Chang aims to provide a suitable setting for the development of leadership and teamwork skills, self-confidence and care for one’s fellows through adventure, community service, marine and forest ecology and outdoor pursuits.
